GenEx Instructional/Learning Designer’s responsibilities include partnering with the Subject Matter Experts (SME) and other key stakeholders to create detailed, engaging curriculums and quality resources, through innovative, interactive, and engaging digital experiences.

In partnership with our SME/QA team, they will enhance and create detailed and engaging curriculums and demonstrate a passion for continued learning and technology. This position must understand adult learning theory in multiple formats (asynchronous, synchronous, hybrid and live instruction). The designer must also understand the creation of digital multimedia and digitally enabled elements, and content design and be prepared to collaborate with a wide range of internal and external partners.

Skills and requirements:

  • Ideally 2-3 years of professional working experience
  • Relevant Design training or qualifications
  • Design: Layout, Colour Theory, Hierarchy, Adobe Illustrator Standard Internet Practices Proactive and action-oriented personality; strong sense of pace and urgency is essential
  • Translate reference material into visually consistent diagrams and photography that comply with brand aesthetic.
  • Can work well under pressure
  • Have a basic understanding of course builder software, Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Illustrator.
  • A good understanding of the English language
  • Be able to work in a team as well as independently
  • An eye for detail and interest in educational content
  • An interest in design
  • Organised and hard working
  • Content development experience/ Content design experience
  • Ability to manage multiple competing deadlines in a fast-paced and supportive environment.
  • Flexibility in approach and ability to adapt to changing conditions and priorities.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and solutions-focused attitude
  • Previous work experience and/or higher-level certificates.

Principle accountabilities include:

  • Establish creative direction for multimedia and graphic design by integrating digital learning into the curriculum to enhance engagement.
  • Conduct research and collaborate with subject matter experts to produce and launch engaging and user-friendly asynchronous and hybrid e-learning courses and supporting resources.
  • Contribute to the design of courses for a Learning Management System
  • Standardize design, production and launch processes and procedures to ensure efficiency in the development of high-quality products
  • Evaluate the effectiveness and success of our digital learning efforts to improve effectiveness and accessibility continuously
  • Complete quality assurance of course designs and provide feedback to the SME/ID team
  • Create stimulating course designs that contain a range of digital resources to optimize classroom learning and ensure ongoing learning outside of formal settings.
  • Expand networks of curriculum designers, educators, and other professionals to collaborate and create new learning resources.
