As an Academic Marker, you will play a crucial role in assessing and evaluating students’ academic performance. Your responsibilities will include:
- Marking and assessing online assignments, examinations, and other academic submissions according to established guidelines and rubrics at an undergraduate and FET matriculation
- Must have theoretical and practical knowledge of the subject and course content.
- Providing constructive feedback to students to help them understand their strengths and areas for improvement.
- Maintaining accurate records of student grades and assessments.
- Collaborating with the academic team to ensure consistent marking standards and practices.
- Participating in regular meetings and training sessions to enhance marking skills and stay updated on curriculum requirements.
- Work independently with others and adhere to deadlines and ensure timely completion of marking tasks.
- Addressing student inquiries related to assessment outcomes in a rich, professional and supportive manner.
Qualifications and Skills:
To be considered for this position, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- A Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
- Marking and moderation experience with a recognised accreditation body.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of commerce-related subjects and concepts.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in assessment and marking.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to provide constructive feedback and support to students.
- Proficiency in using digital tools and platforms for marking and record-keeping.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Possess a strong work ethic.
